Using our knowledge and expertise is an important part of our strategy and ideology for improving the lives and integrity of Kingston University students, but we also feel that we can give more and improve as a society through volunteering projects – both within the university and the local community.
- Our first project – An on-going project is with Tolworth Scouts, for whom we installed and constantly maintain a medium sized network consisting of 10 PC’s, 1 Printer, 1 Print server and a main controller server/internet gateway. We have also started planning some basic PC lessons for the staff at Tolworth Scouts with a view to expand to other members of the community.
- Our second project – We helped improve Kingston University’s Students’ Union’s communications channel by hosting, creating and designing their online magazine website, and teaching the users how to edit and maintain the system independently.
We hope to complete a couple of projects per year. If you’re interested in joining us, or know of a worthy cause that needs the KUCGS magic touch, then let us know!
